On 18 May 2020, zero - count’em, zero - passengers flew into or out of New Zealand. Or came or went by ship, space shuttle or swimming, for that matter. First time it’s happened since the days when LAX-AKL needed two refueling stops and first class was the only class.

It’s not a good time to be working in the aviation or tourism industry folks, in case you were in any doubt.

I’m guessing the Maori are wishing this situation was in place a couple of centuries back.
